Monster Jamz
You might have access to music that you really love, but without the right headphones you might not be able to enjoy listening to it at all. If you want a pair of really rugged headphones that provide crystal-clear sound across all frequencies and that too at a very reasonable rate, then you need to plug into Monster Jamz Headphones. These headphones combine the right mix of clarity, affordability and modern looks into one heavyweight but tiny package.
Design
As mentioned above these headphones are truly heavy-weight as they are made of metal instead of plastic to cut down on unwanted resonance that could ruin your listening pleasure. The headphones themselves are available in chrome finish with black ear-tips and actually look like miniature hair-dryers. The hard chrome finish ensures that they look attractive and need no maintenance other than the odd cleaning. These headphones are actually earphones that need to be inserted in the ears, but due to the high quality of bass they sound much better than larger headphones too. A cable slider and cable management system along with a 24k gold plated jack completes the overall attractive package. The headphones come with a compact soft-clip pouch that can store these mini sub-woofers safely when not in use. These headphones also arrive with multiple ear-tips that will help you to choose the best one that suits your ears.
“I got mine a week ago. Bought it to replace an old JBL, also good, but already showing signs that it is going to stop at any time.
Well, the Jamz has a superb sound. It really surprised me for it’s quality and the way it is built. You have the feeling that is a professional earphone, not an intermediary level accessory, as they present the product.
Bass is strong, but balanced giving the music pleasure to listen to. The same could be said of the balance as a whole: Every tone seems to be right and the music fills the ear in a deep but harmonic way.
They are a bit heavy, so it is not the kind of earphone you want to use for running or the gym. It is more suitable for the time you want to relax, get away from the world for a while and enjoy your tunes…They deliver what you want.
There’s not much more to say. I believe there’s no way to regret buying it.
I am very happy and highly recommend.” – Harun (USA)
Specifications
With Monster not providing specifications of their products on their website, it would be fair to rate them at a sound frequency of around 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which anyway seems to be an approximate standard in the headphone industry. However, it is the way in which Monster parts the various frequencies and presents it to your ears that will make you happy you bought them. A three year warranty on the headphones should ensure that you use them happily for years although some of the parts that are glued on the headphones do have an odd chance of falling off. You should check your set of Monster Jamz Headphones the moment you open the box so that you can be sure that all parts that need to be glued are indeed glued properly.
Performance
The Monster Jamz Headphones have basically been designed to address the economy range of the headphone market, and if you simply want the best then you can explore their gold or copper series of In-Ear Speakers. However, for the price, these headphones do provide a really tight bass along with distortion-free mid-range and highs. The bass is such that your head does not feel that it will explode while the mids and highs complement the overall sound in a slightly mild-mannered but really clear way. The sound emancipating from these headphones provides decent depth without sounding flat or harsh. However, although you will receive multiple sized ear-tips that are quite comfortable, you will need to improvise in case the ear-tips do not fit comfortably in your ears or do not manage to seal outside sound in an efficient manner.
The weight of these headphones makes them sturdy but heavy at the same time, and unless you have a good fit in your ears you might not be able to go jogging while wearing them. On the plus side, ear-tips that fit well in your ears will provide you with hours of comfortable music whether you love listening to classical, rock, pop, rap or jazz. The Monster Jamz Headphones basically try to offer a balanced sound to your ears, a fact that might or not might not please everyone. The sound quality is as good if not better than larger over-the-ear headphones, and they are much more comfortable to wear over a longer period too.
Conclusion
The Monster Jamz Headphones try to offer really decent sound at a budget price compared to their other series and succeeds to a large extent too. At slightly over $100 these headphones make a good buy and are quite sturdy too, provided you receive the right pair. The rich bass pretty much makes up for any other shortcomings that these headphones might have. Monster’s reputation for offering good sound products continues with the Monster Jamz Headphones, and you too can enjoy deep base and clear higher frequencies when you go in for a pair.
Actual User Reviews:
• “I had been shopping around for some high quality earbuds for the past few months, and so when I purchased the Monster Jamz, I was truly surprised at the quality of the sound and the comfort.
When the founder says these are ‘In Ear Speakers’ he isn’t kidding. I never thought I’d ever say I found sound quality better than Bose, but now I have. Even the CDs I have ripped that were recorded from Analog tapes sound great, and at a much lower volume.
Monster Jamz are quite impressive, and the price (well below that of some retailers) was awesome!”
– L.Y.Bethea (CA,USA)• “I used to own a pair of Bose in-ear headphones, and they were good, although fragile. The cord came loose at the plug and sound began to cutoff after a year or two of basic use. Nothing too serious, just put them in and played.
I recently bought Beats Solo headphones by Monster and I liked their attitude and their products. They care about quality in all aspects of their product, especially something as simple yet important as the cable. So when my Bose cable broke and I began to look at new in ear headphones for travel and exercise I remembered Monster over other name brands and found these.
The Jamz were at a good price, being in that range where the headphones aren’t cheap but aren’t professional grade. Quality consumer level I’d say.
I got these today and have been listening to a variety of songs and just seeing how they feel, how they sound, and I’ve concluded so far that they were a good purchase. The sound is nice, clear, with a good range and some base. I can really hear the music well. These headphones wont thump your head with base like over-ear headphones, or more expensive IEM’s or other in ear headphones, but they are better than I expected. They are more comfortable as well. Its been a while since I had plug in ear headphones (Bose rests in the outer ear area) and all i thought was of awkward pressures and hard plastic disks. These bulbs are soft and there are different sizes. They seal well without being uncomfortable, and really I barely notice they are there. They hold in well (although I haven’t run or exercised yet, but I have a good feeling) and the cord is a good length.
I recommend these for someone looking for something in the $100 range that sound good enough for the rest of us (non-audiophiles), fit comfortable, and wont make you regret the purchase thinking they are cheap or a gimmick. When I need better I’ll get out the big headphones, but for compactness and activity these sound good, feel good, price well, and come with a smaller and secure carrying pouch too.” – M.Peezick (USA)
